Botox

Botox is a drug made from a toxin produce by
the bacterium Clostridium botulium.

It's the same type of toxin like food poisoning called botulism. Botox refines small amount of botulinum toxin which actually paralyes the facial muscles. giving the patient a clean smooth appearance.
Botox was FDA certified at 1989 and was used as a treatment in ophthalmalogy, in muscle pain disorders at first, and now is used for wrinkle refinement as well.
Today, botox is used to treat winkles as well as making your face smaller, and for many other parts of body as well.
This is how Botox injection works. When the toxin is injected into the muscle, it blocks the nerve inpulse which temporarily paralyzes the muscles that cause wrinkles. Therefore the result is that formation of wrinkles is reduced.

Range of the Botulinum Toxin

  • Wrinkles- forehead, middle of the forehead, corners of the eyes, around the mouth, neck
  • Square Jaw(Chin)- reduces the muscle of mastication which results slimmer face
  • Mesolift- lifts sagging face

How Botox treatment is applied


Botox injections are given to facial expression muscles where there are wrinkles, such as around the eyes, in the middle of the forehead, and at the mouth and neck. Patients experience the pain of the injections differently, but the shots inevitably do sting a little. For patients who worry about pain, injections can be given painlessly by applying an anesthetizing ointment or an icepack in advance.



  • Treatment time
    The treatment time will differ depending on the size of parts to be treated, but it generally takes about 5-10 minutes.
  • Effect
    The effect of a Botox injection will appear three or four days after the treatment, and increase for a period of about one or two weeks. The effect will last for about 3-6 months, and then disappear slowly. To get the same effect, the injections should be repeated.
  • Side effect
    Side effects of Botox injections can be divided into whole-body effects, such as headaches and allegic reactions, and effects at the injection site, such as bruises, swelling, sense problems, scorching and ptosis. These side effects, however, are temporary and disappear naturally.
